MOT Plate: frequently asked questions
How does a lookup work? Point your camera at a number plate (or type it in). The app reads the registration on your device and fetches that vehicle’s MOT history from the DVSA.
Are my photos uploaded? No. Plate recognition runs entirely on your device. Images never leave your phone. Only the confirmed registration is sent to look up MOT data.
What do the free and Pro tiers include? A free allowance to get started, with Pro subscriptions for higher lookup volumes. Exact limits and pricing are shown in the app before you subscribe.
The MOT data looks wrong. MOT results come directly from the DVSA and may occasionally be incomplete or out of date at source. If something looks off, please check the official DVSA service and contact us if needed.
Which countries are supported? MOT Plate covers vehicles registered in the United Kingdom.
